Panorama Theatre Company has a proud 37 year history of delighting audiences whilst supporting young people to explore the medium of theatre as a vehicle for personal development, friendship or as a potential career.
Our original charter to cater for 14 to 22 year olds, has been expanded to acknowledge that learning and growth is supported by the mentorship of experienced theatre people. As such, the casting of our shows will sometimes include both older and younger members than our original brief, according to the show and the production value we are seeking to achieve.
Our commitment to youth and theatrical education remains steadfast and our focus is on fostering talent, with the added opportunity for young people to benefit from an experienced and diverse casting and production team.
Panorama Theatre Company Inc. has a passion for excellence and aims to present the best possible performances to our audiences in a professional theatre.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Panorama Theatre Company Incorporated?
Panorama Theatre Company is a Youth Theatre company based in Mornington, Victoria. Our committee of volunteers are elected by our members. We perform at least one musical per year at the Frankston Arts Centre.
Do you provide acting/dancing/singing classes?
No. We are a self-funded, audition only company and lease our rehearsal space for the duration of each production schedule. Our production teams and committee members volunteer their time and expertise. During the week you will find us busy working in our various paid employment outside of theatre!
Can you recommend a class I can attend?
The short answer is “sorry, no.” As we audition our cast, we cannot show any bias towards any singing/dancing /acting school or teachers, so please don’t ask us to recommend one! Sometimes our cast members have undertaken vocal training or dance training or calisthenics or performed with their school prior to joining us. Other cast members have come to us with relatively little experience. As we are a youth theatre company we enjoy watching new members learn throughout the rehearsal period and from the production team, their peers and more experienced cast members. As we do attract lots of interest in our shows, it is a good idea to have an audition piece you feel comfortable performing which allows us to see your personality shine through. Remember you may only have 10 minutes to audition, so it helps if you are confident and in what you deliver!
How do I join Panorama?
Our cast members are chosen from an audition process, however if you would like to support our company, an annual membership form is available on this page. Your membership will give you the right to vote at our Annual General meeting.
How do I enroll to audition?
We hold an information session prior to auditions, with the date and time published here on our website. At this information session (and not before, so again please don’t ask!) we will provide you with all the information you need to know. You will also be able to meet members of the production team and ask any relevant questions. Attendees of the info session are then given the first opportunity to sign up for an audition before we open it up to other interested people via our website.
How old/young do I have to be to audition?
Although our charter is for 14 to 22 year olds, the casting of our shows will sometimes include both older and younger members than our original brief, according to the show and the production value we are seeking to achieve. The age requirement will be shared at the information session and on the website post this session.
I won’t be able to get to the information session; can I still sign up to audition?
Following our information session, we will place the audition information on our website and you will be given an opportunity to telephone for an audition appointment.
I am going to be away when auditions are held, can I still be considered?
We realistically can’t hold auditions after the scheduled period, due to limitations in time and audition space. However, we may offer a further opportunity if we have not been successful in casting a particular role. This is the exception rather than the rule and this information would be published on our website.
Why should I join Panorama?
You will gain a wealth of experience, get to perform in a professional theatre under professional conditions and very probably make life long friends. Many of our past members are currently performing in professional touring productions. Be warned though - musical theatre can be addictive!
